2020 YLC Participant Quotes
I absolutely loved participating in Stanford's Youth Leadership Conference and meeting some incredible new friends/fellow advocates. It was an invaluable experience, and I hope to stay involved as a Team Leader or Assistant Team Leader in the future, as well as continue to raise awareness for the JoinJade campaign locally. I will share our winning initiative with Hep B Free - Los Angeles, in hopes of launching it soon, and plan to start a Team HBV chapter at my own high school, urging everyone to #TakeTheTest and #JoinJade! Three words. Growing Comfort Zones. My biggest takeaway from YLC: Leaders lead from the back. Hep B, a globally overlooked yet profound issue must be tackled through effective combating strategies, posing a united front. I wish to encourage my peers to strive hard for what they believe in- be it fighting disease or disappointment. But perhaps the most interesting thing was the natural connecting vibe - a shared enthusiasm sans boundaries. And yeah, everybody has a great sense of humor! |

The whole experience is one to remember, from the keynote speakers to the team bonding. I've learned so much about leadership, business management, public speaking, and hepatitis B; I know I will use all of this knowledge in my future. After YLC ended, my team and I have been working to actually launch this campaign into the public--something I would have never dreamed of! |

The YLC helped me to step outside of my comfort zones and work together with a group of 9 other like minded and talented students. I learned that if you team up with people who are really passionate about a common goal, together great things can be achieved. Simran Pandey, Team 8
